I was just wondering if Directv changed the Distant CW to the CW Washington, because I didn't normally see a CW bug on that channel until this morning, and it says CW Washington down there. Thank you for your responses.:)

Just wondering, why would they change it to DC if anything? Shouldn't it be NYC? DC's even owned by the same company as WGN and WPIX.
Maybe D* likes that there's no local content. It's definitely like the highest ranked CW (I think) without local news and such.

But yeah, that's my station, w00t. You'll like the evening block, it's really good, definitely an improvement over the Baltimore station. Plus, it's owned by Tribune, so you get the A-List graphics and such.

Just tuned in and caught a commercial. At the bottom of the screen it did say Washington. Now if DirecTV would only offer the HD version. Maybe they're getting really do just that. ;) Keep an eye on ch 85????

WPIX carries Mets baseball and some syndications out of the ESPN+ package. This has the twin effect of making the PPS sports packages less valuable, and of not doing what at DNS is supposed to do, which is provide small market viewers with access to the network in question.

I'm still hoping they will put up an HD channel sometime soon.

It isn't an issue with CW. DirectTV doesn't currently offer HD DNS version of the CW, much less an HD MPEG2 version of it

Our local CW is a subchannel of the CBS station. It's not carried by DTV. I applied for waivers but they were denied. Fortunately, I can get it OTA but it's a reason why some of us still need the HR20 or an HR21 with a standalone ATSC tuner.
