Networking a Directv SIR-S4040R

I have a Samsung SIR-S4040R "Directv tivo" and I want to put in on my network.
there is no RJ-45 port on the back only 2 USB ports. I read that these are deactivated by Directv Request. Is this true? and is there a way to put this on a network. Oh yeah. It is a Mac Network. But I use a Belkin Router.
