I finally bought a 8VSB tuner for my 6000. One of the local stations started broadcasting a digital signal. http://www.titantv.com tells me I should get the signal. I orient my antennae like they said. I have the big dual boom antennae from radioshack Catalog #: 15-2156 Model: VU-190 XR.

I get 0% strength. I can tune in some analog signals with it though, so I know it is working??...??

I've tried a few times to contact the stations, but no one replys.

My question is this:
Is there a tool I can use, or a company I can call that can test for that signal? Any input would be appreciated.

The same thing happened to me. I have a replacement coming today. I'll let you know tomorrow if it's bad hardware or if I have to get someone out to put up a bigger antenna.

When you get the analog station, if it is UHF, go to set up and punch in the Channel number (not the scan) for the digital station. Check the stations enigineer to verify signal and power. If that fails call tech support.

When you punch in the actual UHF channel number, it will show the associated Analog channel number and then you can give it a name.

In the Guide you should see a yellow listing for Local Digital that will have the channel number of the associated Analog channel. Press Select on this channel and it will open up a sub channel which will be the digital channels. You will see anywhere from 1 to 3 channels typically.

Normally the first channel will be the HD channel and the other sub channels will be SD. So if your Analog station is channel 6 you will see 6-01, 6-02, etc.

To tune directly to these channels, you must use 2 leading 0's, so you would hit 00601. If none of this works, call the station engineer.

Make sure you associate your ABC, CBS & NBC Analog stations with an affiliate in the setup box, that way you will be able to see what's on during primetime.

I got my replacement 8VSB installed today. It works perfectly.

The old one got all the local analog stations perfectly. All digital stations showed zero signal strength.

The new one gets all the local digital stations with 70-90% signal. No other changes (wiring, antenna location, etc.) were made.
