Show: Blue Man Group - How to be a Megastar Tour 2.0
Date (or entire series): January 20, 2008 08:30 PM ET
Recording Issue:
Identified Carriers: HDNet
Channel(s): 79
Other Details: Premiere! The Blue Man Group performs at the sold out American Airlines Arena in Dallas. The live rock show takes the audience through a satirical "workshop" on how to create "the perfect rock concert experience." In the process, they celebrate, skewer and otherwise deconstruct rock stardom in all of its narcissistic glory. Expanding on the "Rock Concert Manual" concept from The Complex Rock Tour, this time around the Blue Men download a new "how-to manual" that takes the audience through a uniquely clever and interactive show that guarantees to deliver hypnotic entertainment for all ages.

Was an awesome show last year in Salt Lake City, very similar to the show a few years back on DIRECTV 101.

Thanks Smiddy!

Thanks a whole bunch, Smiddy! I'm a big fan of theirs -- I've seen their Vegas shows at the Luxor and Venetian with my youngest son and took my oldest son, daughter in-law and three grandsons to see this version at the Charlotte Bobcats arena last year. Great fun!

Probably because I'm blind in one eye and can't see with the other. :D

I don't spend near as much time as I'd like to on the board so I miss lots of good stuff I'm sure. Some day I'll live here though! :)

I was sorry to see Tracy Bonham was replaced. I hope Harley was a temporary replacement.

After seeing them now 4 times live in Vegas, and also repeatedly watching the 2 Blue Man Group DVDs I own.....I really enjoyed it on HDNet.

The show is good but getting tired. It was great the first year out with Venus Hum and Tracy Bonham. It's time for a new Complex show.

Enjoyed the show, but was dissappointed in the difference to the theatrical performance. Went to see them in December in Chicago. I really enjoyed the fact that the theater was smaller.

I recorded it and watched it last night. It was as entertaining, funny and musically spectacular as the Complex Rock Tour which I saw live and own on DVD. The only disappointment was I Feel Love. Nowhere near as good as when Venus Hum performed it in the original Complex Rock Tour. She was awesome.

I agree. I was looking forward to seeing them live here in Memphis, but after watching this performance, I think I'll wait for some fresh material.

Me and the wife going to see this show (well, v2.1) this Saturday in Portland.

Not watching the recorded HDNet version until after, then I'll compare the two.

Actually, Venus Hum is an electronic pop group, composed of singer Annette Strean, Kip Kubin and Tony Miracle. They have a few CD's, the latest of which is "The Colors in the Wheel". The video of "I Feel Love" (originally a Donna Summer song) is on the Blue Man site, as well as on Youtube. Strean lost her voice shortly after the tour, and went through vocal rehab, returning and releasing the above CD in 2006.

I set this up to record and forgot about it. Went to check for it last night in the playlist and it is not there. Anyone know if this will be aired again anytime soon? I couldn't find it by searching, so it is not in the next two weeks for sure.

Thanks.
