may I ask why all of your posts begin with 'directv since 1995' ??

OK .. This should probably be in another forum .. But I will answer here nonetheless.
If you are talking about local channels over the Satellite (Asheville/Greenville/Spartanburg?) then yes, DIRECTV supports HD channels in your area. If you do not have an HD capable receiver then you would to get an HR21 (DVR) or an H21 (non-DVR).

I think his question is more along the lines of why is it relevant to the point that you feel the need to type it in front of every post. If you find it that relevant, you may want to put it in your footer, so you don't have to type it everytime you post.
directv since 1995: You ask why I put this up there, thats how long I've been with them, plus I don't know how to type a short space and start another line, could someone tell me how? I'm not a computer whiz yet!
Hit enter key to move to the start of a new line. The message will not post until you click on the appropriate button. Don't worry about indenting for the start of a paragraph. A blank line between paragraphs is sufficient and finding its way into the printed world.
Thanks Mark20 for the Info.

Or do you think they were talking about the ability to get OTA on the HR21 now? Maybe that's what "fixed" means!

I believe that you can opt out of receiving locals (which are now included in all the packages) and get a credit applied for the declined locals.

No, locals are included in every package. You can't "opt out" of locals. However, if locals are not provided in your area you can get a discount ($3 or $4 bucks). Locals have been a part of the base packages now for about 3 years.

They still grandfather packages without locals if you selected that years ago and didn't change. I know because I have "Total Choice Plus, No Locals". It is the same as "Choice XTRA", but excludes local channels and is $6/mo. cheaper. I get my locals OTA. Considering the amount of bandwidth (money) DirecTV has had to throw into providing HD locals for 100+ DMAs, I'm not surprised they want to collect from as many subscribers as possible.
can someone tell me when your lnb freezes over I loose my picture, I have a freind just across the street and he has E* and his don't, I have the 5 lnb, but back when I had a 1 lnb it would do the same ,a thin layer of ice on the lnb will knock out the picture, but you can put a heavy duty piece of cardboard between the lnb and the dish and you get a picture, you can put your hand over the lnb and you get a picture, has E* got a stronger signal than D*?

Please make your posts on the DirecTV forums or general satellite forums. Your previous thread was moved by the moderators. Also, using "Info" as a topic won't get you many answers. Use a more descriptive title for your thread.
