I'm Planning on buying the Mits 48in gold series, and i'm wondering, is there a satellite reciever out there that supports IEE 1394'? I'm a E* subscriber now and the only thing mentioned about firewire is the 921- and that output is for something else correct? I think the picture on the 48in mits is SUPERB due to the smaller screen size. I really want a 55in, but I guess you begin to sacrifice detail and clarity, for picture size. I know I could use the componet inputs for now, but when I buy a reciever, I want to have all options for hook up available to me. Any one have any info?

Unless you sit really close to the set, you will appreciate the 55 inch picture more than any detail you gain going to the 48. I have a 2001 46 inch and my inlaws have a 2002 55 and the quality is not noticably different. I could not fit a 46 in the space I had so that is what I went with.

Dish is supposed to be coming out with a new HD receiver called the 211 that hooks up to the firewire input on the Mits TV but has not OTA tuner which you should have on the TV already, although the Gold series WS-48311 does not come with 1394 inputs or the internal tuner so perhaps you meant Platinium WS 48511?

What's the cheapest price anyone has seen on the WS 48511 Platinium series?
