722 picture does not fill frame??

I have a new 722 that I wish to use mostly in "single mode". If I have a picture on my #1 receiver that does NOT fill the screen of my #1 HDTV then the picture on my smaller set in the bedroom (#2 receiver)also does NOT fill the screen and the picture is distorted (squeezed side to side) and there is a 2" black border on both sides of the remote set. Is this NORMAL??? If I have a HD picture or any picture on receiver #1 that fills the screen (all the way across) then the picture on the remote set fills the screen. If I run the 722 in "dual mode" then set #2 always looks normal. What am I doing wrong?? Thanks/Frank

Sounds like you are watching an sd (4:3) program, if that is the case, then yes this is normal. Also leaving the receiver in single user mode and having it set for a 16:9 ratio, a 4:3 set will give you the squeezed picture. The ways around this are to either: use receiver in dual user mode, or: use the format (*) button to change it on the sd set, then use the same button to change it back on the HD set.
