Did anyone get the game on channel 627? All I had was a black screen, no searching for signal, no "this game is blacked out in your area," no call customer service. At least that's what I had up until 8 cause then I was recording on both tuners and couldn't check anymore. The game was listed in my guide. All other channels came in fine. I'm in Sabres territory so I should have gotten it.

I got the game in the Bingahmton area. Funny, the Syracuse, Rutgers basketball game was not on. Got channel not purchased on SNYHD. By the way the Rangers and Sabres game was unwatchable to horrible SD picture.

Were you watching the Sabres feed on channel 627? Or the Rangers feed on channel 659 (I think that's the channel the Rangers feed was on)?

I got the same channel not purchased on SNYHD for the Syracuse/Rutgers game.

Sabres/Rangers on 627 was fine for me in Orchard Park last night. I've had something similar to what you describe happen to me a few times. Usually it's resolved by going to the website and "refreshing services". Or you can call and have D* do it.

OK, I was thinking about doing that last night, but since I could only watch till 8, I didn't bother. I'll try that tomorrow night if this happens again. Thanks.

I got the game OK in Idaho on 627 but as someone said that in SD, it looked like crap. I have noticed over the years that MSG SD has always been among the worst looking SD channels, this seems to be the same for both Rangers and Sabres games.

I really have to agree with this. That game on MSG was down right deplorable....and I'm not talking just talking about how the Sabres played. I always thought that games from the garden looked like crap - even way before HD came along. I'm not sure if it's poor lighting or the distance from the ice that the cameras are at.

In either case, the problem is magnified when watching on an HD set with the game being broadcast in SD. Do HD games from MSG look worse than other venues? I don't believe I've ever seen an HD broadcast from there, so I can't comment. However, I almost had to turn the game off last nite because you just couldn't follow the puck or the flow of the game with the picture being that bad...

I watched the Rangers feed from MSG2 and thought is looked 'OK' for an SD picture, but I never noticed how bad the SD picture was, however, until we got MSG HD.

Too bad MSG decides to put Knicks games on in HD and relegates the Rangers to the MSG2 channel. The Islanders/Devils were on FSN NY HD. I wonder which of the 3 metro area teams get the highest ratings on MSG/FSN.

Hopefully, MSG will be able to provide MSG2 in HD.

I watched the game last night (Sabres/Rangers) on the Rangers feed.

I did notice the MSG HD logo appear everytime they flashed back to a replay eventhough the game was not shown on Directv in HD.

So it must have been broadcast in HD somewhere.

I don't think MSG does any HD on their MSG2 channel. I saw that too, but think it was just a graphic and used incorrectly.

They do that too on the SD Sabres (road) games.

It was done in HD so the rebroadcast would be in HD. They only have 2 sources of HD distribution. There were 3 games that night. The Rangers were odd team out, even though they were home.

The feed in MSG is wired for HD. What a joke that this game wasn't atleast in HD for the Sabres Market. I don't understand why MSG/FSNY can't have the alternative channels in HD as well.

Still black screen on my HR20 on both 627 and 627-1 (game coming in fine on my other D* receiver, so it's not a dish or signal problem). Tried refreshing services online 3 times and called D* and they tried and couldn't get it to come in either (they resent info, turned off all services and restarted them but to no avail). Next they recommended a restart, so I'll try that. Of course tonight they finally break out of their slump. Figures.

Just rebooted and still can't get 627 or 627-1. Now I'm worried.
