I was searching on E*'s 110 bird on Lyngsat and notice that only ActionMAX shows up but no 5-StarMAX. But I read on DBSForums that both channels are up.

Could this mean that only 1 Cinemax channel will be added instead of two?

nope - they are both uplinked now, but more likely not available to "mere mortals" yet...

They should both show up to subscribers on Jan 30, or Feb 1 (or whenever it was that they 've been promissed)

When they will be available doesn't matter. I'm just curious why only LyngSat only lists ActionMAX uplinked and no 5-StarMAX....

Lyngsat screws up also on occasion - more likely

Lyngsat is a great resource, but as Darkman said, like everyone, they do make mistakes once in a while. One thing to remember, channel additions listed on Lyngsat are based on what users tell the Lyngsat administration. Don't worry about 5Starmax, as John H posted on DBSForums both are uplinked and available for free right now to those who have FTA boxes.

I just got a few reports and this may be the source of the confusion: The two cinemax channels were FTA on 110° and today they changed over to encrypted. Some folks can only see one or the other. Like when I listed the Cinemax channels, I had some folks tell me they weren't there yet. But they were FTA. Today I got a couple of reports telling me that the channels were gone, but a couple of folks told me they just showed up.

Anyway... rest asured they are both definitely on the satellite.

See ya
Tony

What channels from Dish are you getting for free from the 110/119 slot other than the music channels on the FTA receivers? How long have you been getting them?

Steve: "Lyngsat is a great resource, but as Darkman said, like everyone, they do make mistakes once in a while. One thing to remember, channel additions listed on Lyngsat are based on what users tell the Lyngsat administration." - Exactly what i ment...

Rest assured - those 2 will show up as planned (for subscribers)

TNGTony - those 2 cinemax channels - reported to be at 313 and 314 already - ACMAX and 5-MAX (EPG names) - (on same tp as shows at your Channel list site), ...it is just not available to the "mere mortals" for now (more likely) until the end of the month...

The reason that 5 StarMax was not listed at Lyngsat is there was confusion as to the correct name of the channel. You will find both channels listed there now and as Darkman states, they are not available to mere mortals at this time as they are encrypted. :)

BTW: Christian Lyngemark is human and he did list ActionMax on the wrong Transponder for a day.

hehe - Christian Lyngemark - is a Human - hehe :)

Christian also lives in the Netherlands. He can't even see American satellites.

You guys must remember that the Lyngsat charts are updated due to submissions from everyday people like you and me. :)

I could submit that Dish is now broadcasting the DBSTalk.COM Channel on Channel 9999 from the 61.5 satellite and it would appear there for a few days until someone emailed Christan that the info was incorrect.

He is in Sweden and Channel 9999 is on 119(same as 101). :)

I didn't even know there was a 9999 I just made that up. :)

It is there, but not available to "mere mortals", probably not available to anyone as it looks. :)

hehe JohnH - i guess you are kiddin' - hehe - 9999 doesn't even exist on Dish's EPG :-)

You probably would say the same about 265, 271 and 299. :)

They and 9999 are available FTA.

Darkman

Yup - i just looked them up - on TNGTony's list :)

{Edit} - was refering to 265, 271 and 299 (was kidding too - cuz they do not exist) :)

JohnH - huh? - "You probably would say the same about 265, 271 and 299. They and 9999 are available FTA."

Huh? - not sure about FTA though - but to me - if they could not be found on Dishnet's IRDs (even by "non-mere mortals") - then they do not exist at Dishnet's EPG...

Now with some reports that 9999 is mirroring ch 101 HELP at 119 - i am totally confused (saw it today on Tony's changes)...
For now i Still think 9999 doesn't exist on dish's EPG (until i am proven wrong) :)

JohnH - actually makes more sense now to me - cuz as Tony explained to me:

"Channel 9999 is available to anyone with an FTA receiver on transponder 11 E*7 119ś. The channels are not encrypted. They will also not show up on a regular Dish Network receiver..."

Makes somewhat more sense now :)

Can someone make a regular Dish Network receiver into an FTA receiver to pick up those Dish channels that are in the clear?

What's an FTA?

Darkman

FTA stands for Free To Air.....

Jacob S

Free To Air (channels that come in without having to pay for them on a special receiver made to pick up the unencrypted/blocked signals)
