Hi All,

Still in my first 24-hours with DTV. So far, happy with the quality, the channel selection, etc. My only frustration is the onscreen menus. I'm having a heck of a time reading the text onscreen, even when I'm wearing my glasses. I didn't have this problem at all with the Comcast onscreen menus. However, Comcast did allow you to change the menu's background color and I'm thinking if I could change the color from blue to grey or black it might be easier for me to pick up the text.

Is there anyway to accomplish this with any of the DTV receivers?

Thanks in advance,

David

I have heard that the fonts are areas of improvement as software versions are released.

What receiver do you have? What is your software version?

Change back to comcast.

Boba, Does being an ******* come naturally to you, or do you have to work at it?

Back on topic ....

What Receiver/DVR do you have (brand/model)? What software version? How big is your TV?

Thank to the members of this forum who are actually interested in helping instead just popping off.

I have two receivers on CRT TV's and one on an LCD TV. The LCD TV is large enough that it's not an issue.

CRT TV#1 has an R15 DVR with software version Ox109D. It's a small 15" television.
CRT TV#2 has a D12 with software version Ox1051. It's a 21" television.

Admittedly, neither of these tvs are top of the line equipment, but that's really besides the point of my question.

Thanks...David in Seattle

How does the rest of the PQ look on the channels. Is it bad on all three.

Make sure its hooked into video and or svideo inputs on your tvs, if they have them. If they don't, you are not going to be able to do much using rf (coax) input. If you have to switch your tv to ch3 or 4 to watch Directv, that's how its hooked up.

Agreed on that point. The "cleaner" the input you can send to the TV, the better. Even composite video should look a little clearer than RF/Coax.

Aside from that, I'm not sure there's much else you can do. There aren't any options to change the colors and/or fonts (except for subtitles) from what I have seen.
