View Full Version : Not getting non-HD locals on one receiver

I just added a used HR10-250. I already have one HR10-250 and two HR20-700's that are working fine. The "new" HR10 is not receiving the non-HD locals from the dish like my old HR10 does. For example, in Houston NBC is "channel 2". On my old HR10, I can get 2 (from dish), 2.1 (OTA), 2.2 (OTA), etc. On my new HR10, all I can see in the guide is 2.1 (OTA), 2.2 (OTA), etc. If I try to tune directly to 2, it says "searching for signal on: Antenna In" when it should be trying to get it from the dish. Also, Info says "Regular Schedule", "No information available", and has the channel as "ant 2" (instead of "HN2" like on the other HR10).

If I go to Setup -> Channels -> Channel List, only the "x.x" OTA channels are listed. The non-HD locals are not.

If I do a search for a specific major network program, it will only show the OTA one. The old HR10 will show both the D* local and OTA programs.

Everything looks good in system info -- same as on the old HR10. When I first installed it, I did a "clear everything" (which ended successfully after about five hours) then went thru the guided setup to set everything up from scratch. Satellite signal strengths are good (90+). It sees all three satellites. Everything else seems to work correctly. It has made "the calls".

Did the D* CSR forget to "turn something on" when I activated the new HR10, or is there a setting on it that I am blindly missing? The other thing I noticed before doing the "clear everything" is that the previous owner was getting the nationwide network feeds (i.e., NBCE) instead of local network channels from D*. There were some nationwide network feed programs that were in the now playing list.

Thanks,
Ira

What version software does your used HR10-250 have on it?

Sounds like the box thinks you should be getting the DNS feeds.

This may work.

Call 1-800-531-5000.

When the voice system asks you what you need say "Wrong or Incorrect Locals".

I've had that fix a similar issue for a customer. They had sent him a refurb H20 and it was showing another markets locals. I made the call as above, and the other locals dissapeared and ours popped in.

RobertE's suggestion above worked. The voice system said it would try to fix it, and it did within about five seconds.

FYI...the new HR10 is running 6.3e...same as the old HR10.

Ira
