I have somebody who's asking me for help. He has a Sharp Aquos LC-46D92U TV and is complaining of a white line at the top of the screen. I know the line is captioning data, and is embedded into the broadcast, but I'm looking for a way to minimize or remove it through the TV. I didn't see anything in the manual that was helpful. Does anyone have any ideas?

Go to menu options with your remote and there is an option to adjust the vertical and horizontal position of the picture.
It gets rid of the white line. I've had the same prob, especially with SD content.
I'm out on the deck right now and can't tell you exactly which menu option it is, but it's there.
Good Luck

I have the 46D92U. The answer to the question is on page 35 of the owner's manual.

I notice this on my Aquos as well. It only happens on 1080i channels that are not broadcasting shows in HD such as Fuel TV HD and CSTV HD. and its due to my having the set on dot to dot mode. If I switch to stretch mode the problem is solved.

Same here, try Stretch or S. Stretch mode on those 1080i channels not broadcasting an HD program.
