I wanted to vote for scripted comedies. Are they so rare they've been forgotten?

New ones that are well-done are rare. But it is strange that the options don't include "scripted drama or comedy".

Agreed. That would be my vote. Scripted dramas or comedies.
I'd lean towards dramas if I had to pick one over the other.
Either way, scripted shows get the nod.
Sports is a close second, but if I'm watching sports, the rest of the family is off doing something else. Scripted shows we can all sit and watch together (the kids are too young to actually "watch", but if mom and dad are sitting watching TV, they might be snuggling on the couch with one of us, or they might just be playing on the floor).

I chose history as it is the closest to my preference, but would extend that category also to channels like SCIHD, SMTHHD, NGEOHD, TLCHD. Second choice would be news-- CNBCHD, CNNHD, etc...

appears that we have two catagories that I forgot.
1. Comedies Scripted or otherwise
2. (Adult) educational programs (Smithsonian and other)
Sorry I forgot to include them.
I also vote for both as well.

I agree with Stuart, where have all the good comedies gone? I guess it seems to be a thing of the past. I miss all the good comedies, like friends and Home Improvment.
I'll vote for comedies

For "other" I need to add Sit-Coms. Good ones such as 2.5 Men are just funny. And then some of the other dramas such as The Unit, Numbers and Lost. Plus a couple of reality shows such as Survivor and Amazing Race.

For others include older comedy series... Red Skelton, Jackie Gleason Variety show, Bob Hope Specials, The Dean Martin Roasts, Jack Benny, Burns and Allen and so on. When I can find them.
And of course the different Avengers series, Foyles War, And things that had a limited run over here on PBS such as Britcoms.
Modern Day Movies and TV series such as the bogus Reality shows... Bah.

I like science fiction, drama, westerns and old old comedy shows like Jack Benny and The Honeymooners.
My favorite show is "24" followed by Lost, Stargate Atlantis, CSI, House and I like the first 2 episodes of "Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles."

Mystery/Crime shows (NCIS, L & O's, CSI's, Cold Case) and Pushing Daisies, Back to You, Torchwood. And old movies, especially 30's-40's movies.
Oh, and just started watching Jericho on UniHD - interesting and glad it wasn't cancelled now that we tried it!

I'd add that I'll watch almost any show in HD over SD no matter what the content of the SD show is about :) I won't watch Stretch-O-vision under any circumstances.

Anything but so called 'reality TV'.
Crime Dramas (CSI, NYPD Blue, Criminal Minds)
Legal Dramas (Shark, Law & Order)
Sci Fi Serials (Jericho, Surface, Invasion)
Good Cartoons (South Park, Family Guy, American Dad, The Simpson's)
Comedies (Big Bang Theory, Old Christine)
I try to watch sports shows, but I can only stomach so much. Just like sports talk radio, they get on a subject and just hammer it to death. Tom Brady's boot for instance. 30 minutes of SportsCenter and HBOs Real Sports and Classic Series on NHL Network is about all I can take.
