Networking my HR20-700 with a Linksys WET-11.

I think I have a bad WET-11 ethernet bridge. No matter what I try my HR20 does not see my Airport Extreme basestation.
The Airport is a remote base station repeating my FiOS actiontec router via an ethernet run.
I have upgraded the firmware (via an ethernet connection from my PC),
tried several settings, and nothing.
I am clueless, I had thought an Ethernet bridge would be a simpler set up than this.
What am I doing wrong?

Are you using WPA or WEP for encryption?

do you have any mac address filtering turned on?

if so... you will need to put the mac address of the WET-11 and the HR20 into the airport...

have you tried turning off all security ?

turning off security gave no pleasure!

I have tried manually configuring the unit, in infrastructure mode
nothing
I can "talk" to it via ethernet.
I tried resetting the unit, still nothing

When you say you can "Talk to it via ethernet" what do you mean? You can ping or log in to the bridge through another system which means that it is on the wireless network?

What about the HR20 are seeing an IP Address in it or are you setting on manually? Unfortunately you won't be able to ping the HR20 as they do not respond to a ping request.

Can you get it to work on a computer or laptop? If so then it should transfer over to the HR20 pretty easily.

thanks for the reply
When I efer to "talk to it via ethernet" I mean I can connect an ethernet cable from MY PC to WET11 directly, and change configuration settings.
I can not get it to work with my other pcs or Macs
I think its doa

It is certainly possible that you have a bad / defective unit. I looked at the manual for this and it is a little different than any other wireless bridge that I have used so I'm not sure. I saw something about a switch on it that you set between two settings. I assume that you tried both of them?

Are you giving this device a static IP Address that is part of your network when you access it from a PC? What type of wireless access point / router are you trying to connect this with.

As I said before I think that the best bet is to try and get this to work with a PC or other computer before trying to get it to work with an HR20.

Thanks again for all your help :)
