second time that I see a kaku dish been swap by a dishnetwork dish, I'm guessing people start getting tire of directv equipment and pixialiation issues.

And I've seen a couple Dish Networks dishs on roofs with no LNB's attached to them recently from folks going to cable. Maybe tired of the lack of new HD programming since our local cable company has been adding HD channels.

and.. I've gotten tons of mail from E* since I left them for D* begging me to come back. I think they are losing too many customers

Ka/Ku were coming in steady, before the expansion. Everyone wanted out of their Comcast services, ever since HD locals came to D*.

I'm telling you, a lot of people are ripping out their free cable through the HOA, and switching to D*

I've noticed this in my neighborhood. Cable is not available out here in the boonies and when i moved out here 4 years ago I was 1 out of 2 DirecTV users, about half the homes had Dish and the rest were OTA. In the last year I've seen at least 3 Dish dishes go away to be replaced by slimlines.

I live in a Charter neighborhood. I never have to worry about HOA restrictions on dishes since all 30-something houses are DirecTV or Dish. Mostly DirecTV. ZERO cable customers.

If anything Dishnetwork has the pixellated picture and freezing. DN's PQ is among the WORST.

Wow you are doing a DirecTv install ok and you start this thread by saying

"People switching to dishnet

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

second time that I see a kaku dish been swap by a dishnetwork dish, I'm guessing people start getting tire of directv equipment and pixialiation issues."

Maybe if you would install them right there would not be a pixelation problem
Please explain

You may have better luck if you:
1. Use proper and understandable English spelling and grammar, and
2. Make a point.

He writes like some of the young Hispanic employees I have here. Sound-alike words and improper verb tenses. If so, he is English as a second language, and instead of insulting him, I should offer up congrats on being able to work in two languages.

On the other hand, he could be a 8th generation product of our education system, in which case, shame on him, and us

Either way, he still doesn't have a point......

Can't imagine why some people have complained about their installers---maybe they install like they write.

We bought a new construction house last year and they told us most people get dishes since the local company (also Charter) sucks. They also wire the houses for cable and sat very nicely as part of the base price.

the dtv hd has been huge up here in michigan, its starting to slow down now.

i still get alot of hd installs. for dtv.

its kinda funny i install for dtv and e. so i will be there one month installing a

dish 500 , and the next putting up a slimline .

i also install hughesnet, wildblue and starband . i have switched out tons of them back and forth also.

the (big) thing this week is dtv is offering a $20 per month off your bill for new customers ..... so thats been the story of the week....this week to be continued.

I think that during this year, while DISH struggles to get their 3 sats up and running, that DIRECTv will grow more new subs just because they have more hd channels than anyone now. DISH will not only struggle to add new hd subs, but will most likely lose existing subs because they can't compete with more hd channels at the time ,when more and more people are getting hd tvs. All at a time when Charlie is shying away from new " crazy" promotions as he put it. So what will they advertise to attract new subs? "The best dvr on the market and Oh yea, We are the leader in hd. " I don't think that DISH will recover from the sat launch delays in time to compete this year. Next year they may be in situation to do so ,but this year I don't see them in the game. I also think that since DIrectv will be the hd leader for most of this year that they will also start shying away from a lot of give away promotions like the 20.00 off etc. Unless this is a gimmick to attract more subs.
