I want one I was watching the superbowl & i seen a tv spot for it looks cool But do i have to pay a fee & will i have to sign another contract

I am not sure about a contract, its $12.99 a month for the standalones but if you get the ones where it is built into a DirecTv receiver then it is $4.99 a month or nothing if you choose the highest package they have. If you get a standalone receiver in which you can connect to an off air antenna, any satellite receiver or cable system, it is $249 for lifetime PVR funcionality extra on top of the price of the hardware if you do not want to pay a monthly fee.

Dish Network has one in which you do not have to pay a monthly fee but the hardware does cost more and you can only use it with a subscription to Dish Network programming.
