Mornin Folks,
I had a Dish 500 DP Twin LNP installed in 04. I've also got one 111 Receiver and a 311 Receiver. The 111 Receiver works great but the 311 was telling me to run the check switch test once in a while. OK, no biggy...so tech support at Dish Network made me do all sorts of junk, resetting receiver, returning to defaults and now the 311 doesn't work at all. It scans and scans, says it can't identify equipment and picks up nada. To make things even more confusing: one tech told me my receiver was junk and I have to buy a new one $130, another told me my switch on the dish was bad but then again, who knows it was hard to understand because they barely spoke ENGLISH!
SO, I'm cheap and can't afford the automatic $100 to have a goofball come out to the sticks and tell me something that I can fix by myself.
So, my technical genius people....in my mind it sounds like the "multi switch" on the dish crapped out. Hopefully a part I can purchase at Radio Shack, install with a screwdriver and badabing...we're up and running on the big screen for superbowl! BUT, I could be wrong. Please help!!
