I'd like to get an external antenna to pick up OTA signals. I could forego the NTSC and just get the ATSC (thus I would need UHF only). I currently pick up all stations with an indoor antenna so the outside one need not be anything special in terms of capture strength.

Are there any simple OTA antennas that clip onto the 5 lnb dish that can be setup at the time of my Direct TV installation? I would probably want the OTA signal to be run separately into the house into the TV to be able to use PIP.

Thanks

You might need a VHF/UHF antenna.

If any of your local channels are analog VHF, they have the option to move their digital signal back to their "old" VHF RF channel, after the analog cut-off.

If this applies to your area, you may want to call your local station's chief engineers and ask what RF channel they will be on after the cut-off.

Dish mounted antennas usually perform poorly. But, if you are close enough, it might get the job done.

D* I don't think will install one. You'll need to add that yourself.

I put a dish mounted antenna made for a single lnb dish on my AT9 dish and it works fine for all my HD locals.

Consider the "squareshooter".........a neat exterior appearance and will probably match what you have.
