Hey Guys,

My Dishplayer 7200 has the strange habit of losing its EPG sometime during the night. Every morning, whether the receiver was left on during the night or not, a new EPG has to be downloaded by pressing "Home" on the remote otherwise all the channels show "No Information". It also is turned on in the morning when I turned it off the night before. Another strange habit it has developed, it displays some of the channels I have previously deleted. Not all of them just four or five channels a day show up back on the EPG. I was gone for three weeks and left the unit unplugged during that time, ever since getting back it has had this annoying problem.

Thanks for all your help.

Try deleting the 7 day guide (which has been corrupted). This happened to me once. Turn off the Dishplayer. Wait for the green light to stop flashing. In quick succession press
"Oprion" + 7225000
You'll know you did it right because the lights on the Dishplayer will "dance" for a second. The next night's 7 day guide download should work okay.

See ya
Tony

At night, turn the receiver off and do the option 7225000 and leave it off until morning. it should do an upgrade, if it has not already done it, The WebTV Client software version should be at 2.3.4.4(Version 16720).

The problem recently has been caused by the nightly download overflowing the buffer area due to the added channels in the system. My 7100 is starting to show the effects of the problem again with the new channels added this week, apparently. They need to eliminate all of the local channels in the 700s and 800s ASAP, in my opinion.

do you perhaps have a recurring 3am recording event?

That's when the DP updates it's 7 day guide.

Thanks JohnH

Tried your suggestion last night and it looks like it worked, didn't have to download an EPG this morning. Let's see if continues to work tonight/tomorrow.
Your right about the local channels. A long time ago I was told that my local channels would be moving to the 8000's so I deleted my 700's locals and got used to the new 8000 numbers. I've noticed though that my 700 locals are still there.

Thanks again!
