What is needed to deactivate a receiver from my account? I assume all I need is the smartcard number right? Any help would be appreciated.

CSR will need both the receiver # and the smart card #. These numbers are married the first time you activated the receiver.

To deactivate, the smartcard number should be all you need.

When I deactivated my 501 and activated a 508 and again when I devactivated a 2800 for another 2800, both times the CSR never asked for smartcard or reciever #. They just deactivated them. I already had the receivers unhooked when I called in.

I second that - you don't need either number. When I got my 721 I called to deactivate my other receiver and I just told them it was "the one that's not the 721" and that was all they needed. If you have the smartcard number that's more than enough.

I had to give them the receiver number to deactivate when I swapped out one of my 4900s for a 508, but that was because I had two identical receivers and they didn't know which 4900 to deactivate. Assuming you have only receiver (or one of that model) it shouldn't be a problem.
