I dvr'd a few shows (My Name is Earl and 30 Rock) for later viewing. Over the weekend when I started to watch either one of the shows I got a message 'Searching for authorized content" and after a few minutes of that, I got a message asking if I wanted to delete the program without ever viewing anything. I could never access the programs. What is up with that?

Nice avatar!

Need a bit more info ....
* Brand/model DVR?
* Have you tried resetting the DVR? A simple reset often "cures" problems like this.
* Is this affecting all recordings? Just one? What was the show?

More details will help you get a good response. Also, this should probably be posted in the sub-forum appropriate for your specific DVR model.

Agreed there, this thread should be moved.

But anyway, I had this issue with my hr20-100 a few times here in there last month and I rebooted a few weeks ago and haven't had the problem since then.

So you could try rebooting, that might fix the issue.

Feel free to move this thread.

I have a Hr-21. It appears it was just a one night issue, but since there is a strike and no new shows, who knows.

Thanks

You're welcome. ??? Couldn't wait more than a few hours for a reply?

Well anyway, because of the writers strike most all shows are repeats now (even they may have been scheduled as new programs) including Earl & 30 Rock. If you have "1st run" set, that may be your problem.

To be sure, I would do a reset thru the menu system, and allow the unit to reboot. If that does not help, go to the D* website - Customer Service - Channels not received - and do a receiver refresh (receiver update) and let D* resend the package data.

That should clear you up.

Partially answered: HR21 but no further -700, -200?

I will reset the DVR this weekend. Hopefully this is a one-time thing. I've had no trouble getting the only "active" show that I have scheduled (The Boondocks).

Thanks for your help.

:)

I've had this problem twice in the last two weeks recording the Duke basketball on ESPN. I have an HR20-700. I did reset the unit after it happened the first time. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Twice I recorded Sheryl Crow/Soundstage on my newly installed HR21-200 and got the same message each time. I have reset the receiver several times and still get the message.

Just got the same message trying to playback a recording John Lennon "Imagine" on my HR21-200. Does anyone have an answer as to why this happens?
