I wonder if this means MSN is done...or that they intend to use Yahoo for MSN stuff. Either way (not that those are the only uses) it would give microsoft another part of the search engine puzzle.

On the Today show, they speculated MSN would be merged with Yahoo, meaning one of them would go away .... but they are both valuable names.

I don't know what this means. I do know that both brands are strong, obviously MS is stronger but this will be a good merger IMO.

I suspect that Yahoo! would get the Messenger and Search business and Microsoft would get the rest. It's not that Microsoft isn't a big name or anything, but I don't think that they ever really garnered the market share that they were looking for. yahoo + MSN will be powerful, though.

Now what will it be called? I suspect that it will be MSN Yahoo! Messenger :lol:

God I hope not. While I love Microsoft and am loyal to Bill Gates, Yahoo has been my internet home since December 26 1995. HP ran Compaq into the ground, Sprint ran Nextel into the ground, who knows what will happen with SDARS, an now Yahoo and Microsoft, enough already!
