I feel pretty stoopid to ask, but....after two weeks of aggravation and frustration I now have my wireless network working and can see photos and hear music on my HR20 from my computer. (Tversity/Buffalo).
Here goes. My computer is networked with another computer in the house. The other computer shows it is receiving a strong network signal. How do I access files from one networked computer to the other?

You have to open up file sharing on the computer that has the files. Then the other computer connects to it in Windows Explorer.

This is a bit risky if your router doesn't have a decent firewall because in theory folks outside of your house could hack into the computer with the files.

How do I open file sharing? I'm doing this because I'm firing up a new computer and figure the is easiest way to transfer files to it.

Oh! I do that with every new computer.

You want level 4, I think.

When I get a new computer the HD is almost always twice the size of my old computer. I usually create a new directory off the C root called "Old System" and just copy the entire old hard drive to that folder. It takes a while but requires little supervision. Then I install all software on the new computer and copy the files that I want from the Old System folder to the right place on the new computer. Eventually I go back and delete everything I didn't move (including all of the software) in the Old System folder.

Eventually = in several years, when I start to run out of disk space.
