Daily recording of news

I don't know what I am doing wrong. Please help!

I am trying to record the early morning news every day, but I want it to only keep one episode. So we selected the title, "ABC7 Early Morning News" and set the recording options to only keep 1 episode.

However when we look at the to-do list it only every shows that one episode will be recording and the next morning's show will not.

How do I set this up so that it will only keep the latest episode and not just record the first and then stop.

This was so easy on the HR10. What am I doing wrong?

When you first set up a Series recording, only the next showing will be in the todo list. By the next day, all the following showings will show up in the todo list.

This seems to be by design, and if I must say so, it's a pretty bad design. Since the software is able to gather a list of future showings for display in a matter of seconds, a background task should be started immediately after a series recording is set up, and it would practically be finished in the amount of time it takes to bring up the todo list.

I do this on my HR20-100 in the master bedroom. I record the 11:00 PM news every night. I selected the program in the guide and selected Rec. Series.

My settings are:
Episode Type: First Run
Keep at Most: 1 Episode
Keep Until: Disk Full

In my market, the daily news is named differently than the weekend news, so I have a Series Link for both.

I checked the todo list today and yes I am now picking up the following episodes.

I have to agree with Cartrivision in that this seems to be poor design as it is terribly confusing. I guess it is something I will get used to but I have to wonder why I should? It should not be this confusion in the first place.
