So what is D* going to install for me?

I ordered 2, HR21's and 1, standard (D12) receiver. I was going to hook it up to a RePlayTV with a lifetime subscription already paid. I have only used the RePlayTV with cable and found it a bit of a hassle. I canned the RePlayTV/D12 idea and changed my order to a R15/16 instead figuring a $100 additional charge now will be better than $$$??? later. This unit is a guest room kinda deal that my wife uses occasionally and she likes to record stuff to skip commercials. I know they have to run another cable for the R15/16 but don't know what else is required for 3, DVR's.

So, just go back to the ReplayTV/D12 idea or keep the 3rd DVR? Anyone have comments or experience using the ReplayTV with a D12 receiver?

They will install the 5-LNB Slimline dish and WB68 multiswitch. I would just keep the three DVRs if it was me making the decision. They will have to run two lines to each DVR and that's all. You will have two open slots on the WB68 for further expansion down the road.

If the installer offers to sell you a receiver don't write the check out to him personally.

If he offers to sell you anything go to the phone and call DIRECTV.
