I have a laptop that is less then a year old , It needs a new MOtherboard which HP said they would replace.(7 day turn around).

Well now its 20 days and no no MB for that model to be replaced.

1. They won't tell me what they are replacing it with.
2.They said they would email specs. (they did not)
3.They told me a case manager would call me and they have not .
4. I was told to call today and talk to the case manager OHH they don't work on sunday:mad:
5.The repaired laptops have failed with replacemnt MB also :nono2:

Is it to much to ask for a Replacement computer?

I'm losing my 3 year Service plan from best buy

Any good laptop forums to goto ?

thanks

You'll be lucky to get a new notebook. The Toshiba notebook I had before this one (well actually two before this one) had the pleasure of getting SIX (or was it seven) new system boards before it was a year old. Each time it was away for several days. It got to the stage where it had been in the Toshiba Service Center for more days than at my home.

Toshiba refused to replace it with a new one... and just kept replacing the system board... which kept blowing. After it's year's guarantee was up, I sold it back to them on their recycle program and put the cash towards a new one. That one blew its graphics card three weeks after the year's guarantee ended. It's still sitting in the notebook carrier waiting for me to take it apart and get a new grapics card. Toshiba wanted $600 for the new card.

On the grounds that it should be third time lucky, I got yet another Toshiba, custom built, it arrived on January 2nd and is running perfectly. However it does have a 3 year guarantee.

Call HP at its headquarters office and ask to speak to the president of the company (look up his name and ask for him by name). I'm serious about this. You won't get to speak with the president, of course but you'll be connected to a special office (all big companies have them) whose sole duty is to handle complaints. These offices have the power to cut thru red tape and get something done.

Its worked for me in several instances.

HP/Compaq quality and service stinks on ice.
I work on a number of their laptops and desktops for clients and they are the absolute worse put together pieces of CRAP I've had my hand on. Only SONY may possibly be as bad or worse.

Dell.
