I posted this in another forum once before without success, so I figured I'd try the General forum.
When signing into the DirecTV website and looking up TV listings, you have the option showing channels from one of four lists. My options are All Channels, My Channels, My Channels, and My Favorites. No where can I find where I set up these lists. If I select the Edit Preferences option, it asks me for my zip code and what list I want the TV Listings screen to default.
Anyone know where you set up these lists?
Thanks,
Merg

I think "My Favorites" is an option that disappeared.
The D* website seems to be very limited considering what it could do.
Yea, obviously a work in progress .... There's a lot they could do to improve it -- and hopefully they will.

At one time I was able to select a group of five channels, I did and now no matter what I do, those 5 are the only ones that show. I cant remember how I did it and I sure cant figure out how to turn it off.

Yeah, that's the mini-guide that appears on the main site page when you login. You can get to that setting via the Edit Preferences link. However, for the main TV listings, the preferences only enable you to pick which list you want it to default.

Alright, I finally got a reply for DirecTV.com Customer Support. Here are the answers I got as I had to keep replying to them along with my initial e-mail...
I signed on to DirecTV.com and went to the TV Listings area. In that area there is an option to select what channel list to display using a drop down. My options are All Channels, My Channels, My Channels, and My Favorites. Where do you go to customize these lists? Also, when clicking on the Edit Preferences link, it states that you need to log in to access that feature. When I loaded up the DirecTV.com site, it shows that it recognized who I was. Why do I need to log in again? Thanks.

As you can see they completely ignored my secondary question. I replied with the following information:
The only options I have on the screen tab for Program Guide Settings when I click on the Edit Preferences link are: Default Settings for Program Guide: Time Zone Start Time Zip Code County Program Filters: Show Only: Channels from List -- There are no options or links for me to edit what the channels are currently in each of the channel lists. Also, as I stated in my initial e-mail, when clicking on the Edit Preferences link I am prompted to login even though my login info is saved as a cookie.
Thanks.
Reply #2 - Their next reply was pretty outrageous:
Thank you for taking the time to write us back. I am sorry that you are having difficulty with the online TV listings.I have checked and found that your current package is Total Choice Plus - an expired one which list of channels is no longer available online. With Choice Xtra, you will have all the channels you had with Total Choice Plus except that Channel 610 CSTV: College Sports Television is replaced by Channel 274 Ovation TV.
For your reference, please see list as follows:
List containing every channel available, including 22 HD channels (Omitted to save space)

Reply #3 - Still not answering the question:
Thank you for writing us. I understand that there are channels that you would not care to watch. I would be happy to help you with this.
I encourage you to use the locks and limits feature to restrict access to any show or channel that you feel is inappropriate for your family. In addition, you can set up your favorite channel list to exclude a channel so it won't even appear on your guide.
For directions on how to set Locks and Limits, please go to directv.com/locks. To learn how to create a favorite channels list, visit directv.com/favorites. You will also find instructions in your owner's manual for both of these features.
Thanks again for writing and please stay tuned to directv.com for more updates and information about our service.

I am sorry about any miscommunication in the previous email. Unfortunately, this feature has been disabled since our October site update due to technical difficulties. We do hope to enable this feature again in the near future. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Thank you again for writing us. I hope that I have been able to answer all of your questions.
Sincerely,

Soooo.... It only took five replies from DirecTV.com Customer Service to find out that the option of setting up channel lists on the DirecTV.com website has been disabled. I'm glad they made that easy.

Thank you for posting this. That's something I have been wondering about but didn't contact DirecTv myself since I suspected I'd get that same runaround.
