So y'day a friend gave me an awesome present.. a SimpleTech Duo Pro 1Tb drive! Yes it's eSATA and yes it connect right away out of the box! The cost? He got it from OfficeMax last week on sale (regular price $399.99 on sale for $299.99!)
So... since I downgraded from HR10 to HR20 and have 2 HR20's I went to OfficeMax and what do I see?? A 1 Tb Free Agent Pro on sale for $249! Never thought of going to an office supply store for my electronic needs but hell... there prices were better then Best Buy AND Circuit City! Only thing is they didn't have an eSATA cable but lo and behold... Best Buy has the PNY cable on sale this week: 6 foot cable is regular priced at $19.99 but on sale this week for $9.99! :icon_hug:
I don't have any idea how to measure how much actual drive use I have as I took the Simple tech directly out of the box and plugged it straight in to the HR 20 and powered it up. HR 20 immediately recognized (red button reset) and bam! :balloons:
At least now we can record more HD shows and don't have to rush to delete them! Finally something actually worthwhile from this POS box! :icon_peac:
