NFL Channel

I turned on channel 703 last night to find that the NFL Channel has signed off for the season. There is no mention on when it will be turned back on. But they did state it will be better than before.

Has anyone heard when it will be back on the air?

I know it said next season!! Does next season mean starting with the draft in April or training camp in July, or does it mean August, the start of the pre-season, or next September with the start of the regular season?

My guess is the start of the regular season...NEXT Season....

That sucks... I got used to 703 re-running the weekend's NFL Europe games between Wednesday and Friday.

Actually, I think the Football Channel starts up again in April, for both the NFLE games, but also for the NWFA games. I don't know if you noticed that 703 began running ads for the NWFA (National Womens Football Association) noting that they now had a TV deal. The NWFA plays a spring season which will be televised on the Football Channel. I've even heard that the Arena League and CFL (which are both financially supported by the NFL) will get highlight shows on the Football Channel.

The Football Channel should be better than the old NFL channel and become one of my most watched DTV channels (along with BBC America and the 815-820 block of Music Choice)... I'm probably the only one in history to post that ranking of channels...

Actually, Levi, I liked the NFL Channel quite a bit too! Even though I thought it was way too repetitive (there are a TON of NFL Films shows that could be on there, but ESPN 2 plays them...whereas the NFL Channel could show them all the time), I watched often.

I, too, have heard that the NFL channel will be back, when (or should I say, "if") there'a an NFL Europe season...and that the channel will officially kick off it's improved format prior to the start of the 2003 NFL season.

I'm going through a bit of NFL Channel "withdrawl" right now! :)

This past year the channel was on really early (around April/May). I would say check the channel every once in a while in a couple months.
