Hi,
Just wondering if anyone else in the Chicago area lost their signal tonight. On my HR20-700 I can't get a signal on any channel. On my HR10-250's I can get the non-HD locals over satellite but that's about it. It had been snowing pretty hard earlier but it's hardly doing anything now and still no signal.

is your dish covered with snow or ice? if so gently clear the snow off and see if that helps any

Got it working.
My dish had just a slight accumulation of snow on the lower 1/3 of it. It's on my roof (2 story) but I was able to get a broom on a long pole to brush it off and that worked. I've never had that happen before. I've had rain fade before during heavy downpours but never lost the signal due to snow.
Thanks!

Yeah, this slimline dish is a joke. I've had my single and triple lnb dishes covered in snow and still got a signal. This thing even hints of snow, and it goes out.
Directv needs to offer us some sort of discount on those dish warmers and install them for us.

I have had no troubles with my dish. Even the snow storms the last week have had no effect. We're suppose to get 8-12 inches today and right now its freezing rain. The snow will be heavier today so we'll see what happens. My dish is in back yard on a post about 6 ft. off ground.

Mine's done pretty good in the now. Only heavy wet snow affects mine, same as it did with my 3LNB. Maybe your Slimline needs to be peaked?
Up here in Milwaukee, We're expecting anywhere from 12-20" when it's all done by tonight.
So far with 30-40 mph winds, heavy wet snow some lake effect and sleet thrown in since about dinner time yesterday I have not lost one single channel yet as of 2:00 pm CST.

We had about 7" of heavy wet snow last night here in Central Iowa. I checked the dish last night and it was completely covered with snow. I never lost signal or had pixelation on any of my channels. I checked all the transponders on the conus birds and most were in the upper 80's low 90's which is slightly lower than normal but still very good considering the dish was completely covered and it was snowing hard. Might want to check on getting the dish realigned/peaked if your having problems.

Yes we did. All is well now.
Well, ~16" of new snow, the dish is painted solid white.
Signals are low, mostly 60's, and we never lost a channel, and come to think of it, we never had any breakups either.
Not bad.

Omg, my city would think it was the apocalypse if that happened.
