To Do List - Circle with red X and an asterisk

I have an HR21-700, x0193 software version. I have set up a program to record all episodes. But the Thursday episode had a circle with a red X, an asterisk, and a "Won't record" message in the To Do List. What does the circle symbol mean? There was only one other program scheduled to record at 8:00 P.M. I deleted that program, but the the circle symbol did not go away. I did not see any overlap in programs to record.

That was the "conflict" indicator, and it sounds like you already looked to see if there were other programs. If you canceled one, give it some time to update.

One thing to check is if both tuners are working: go to the guide and press REC on two programs showing at the same time.

Thank you for the reply. After I canceled the one program, I hit the record button on the one with the circle X which was one episode of many. It replaced the X with an R. Later, the R became the normal multiple R's. I never found the conflict that created the problem in the first place. The HR21-700 is very strange.

When the network turns a 1 hour show into a 1 hour 1minute program it will create a conflict with the shows scheduled for the next hour. One of the many things the networks are doing to screw up a great tool like DVRs.
