HR20-700 0x1Ea
Win XP WMP11 and Tversity

network and internet connectio are fine

Media share works great with both the WMP and Tversity servers. Until the computer shutsdown then I get the notice from the HR20 that the servers logged off. The Media Share menu option never comes back until I do a reset on the HR20. Rebootin the PC doesn't work, neither does turning the HR20 off and on (I know that doesn't do much besides killing the front panel LEDs and cutting the output).

I suspect a software refinement is needed. The HR20 needs to poll for media servers at other times beside reset.

Is UPnP enabled on your router?

It works until the PC powers off. Would UPnP make a difference?
I don't know. It's a linksys BEF SR41 - wired. I'll need to find the address to check.

Make sure you ALWAYS have the latest released firmware on your router.
Click on this http://192.168.1.1 it is most likely this address for linksys.

Yes, if UPnP is not enabled on the router, traffic will be blocked and updates to the network about UPnP devices may not show up.

That appears to have done the trick. Thank You!!

I also went into the firewall, Zone Alarm Pro, and told it to let WMP and Tversity do anything they want.
