I received a pamphlet in my most recent E* bill touting 20 additional HD channels as part of the "Ultimate" HD package. The Dish website touted 20 additional channels as well...until today. Now it states there are only 19 additional channels.

Which channel was already removed from this "Ultimate" package?

Could be HDNet ... since that made it into Essentials.

DISH is working on four more for Ultimate and three more for Essentials.
I don't recall seeing "20" on Dish's website.

Yep, "20" was on there (now "19"), as it is in the pamphlet I referenced. The last row of icons was consistent with the top three (five in each) and did not have the gap as is now seen.

If you have a pamphlet, can't you compare to the 19 listed now and figure it out?

Mmmm. When I count the dedicated "HD Ultimate" channels within the cited pamphlet (that everyone receives with their monthly bill announcing the 2008 price increases), there are only 19. Strange...as the literature advertises "20".

I guess "rounding up" was considered acceptable by one of their marketing execs.

This little "error" must have been brought to their attention after they removed one of the channels and as a result the website advertising was changed.

I guess "20" sounds a lot better than "19" and when you are trailing the competition so severely in an area, a little misinformation here and there is considered acceptable (reference the other threads citing recent examples).

Or perhaps they simply miscounted. Does everything have to be a conspiracy?

They had Versuse and Golf listed as seperate channels (well it was like that on their web site!!)

If my accountant did their math like E*, I'd be in jail.

Certainly not surprising they would take that sort of liberty. However, that single channel (and correctly identified in the pamphlet as such) is part of their "Essential" package.
