View Full Version : How about a "RESUME Download" feature?

I purposely did an RBR during a DoD download. Upon restarting, the download did not continue. To complete the download, I had to delete and restart it.
1. It's a digital file.
2. The system knew and indicated the download was stopped and not completed.
So, even if it can't do an auto-resume, at least let me do it manually, without having to delete and restart the process from the beginning.

What model system, as this is already supposed to happen (well it at least it is supposed to keep all items that are in the que during a reboot)
But in general... most users should not be having to do an RBR at anytime...
So I am not sure how often a feature (As you describe it), would be used.

Isn't the system set up to resume recording a show that got interrupted? I know my HR10-250 was, and I think the HR20 is, so at that point, this feature only makes sense, if only to align features between both methods of obtaining programs.
The integration of DOD thus far implies that D* would like you to look at it as "here are the programs available...don't worry about where they come from" in the sense that they're all populated together in the search function. FWIW, I like that approach.

Yes, it will resume recording if there is a restart for any reason.
As I said... I do think it resumes a download if there is a restart for any reason.

Earl,
As my sig shows, it's a normal HR20-700.
I hit the RBR to D/L the CE. But that's no different than if I'd have had a power burp (or is it?) - next morning I looked at the list and the queue.
It's really not so bad that I had to restart the D/L, the worst part is the system KNEW it was interrupted and would not continue on a manual command - I was forced to delete, then re-download the whole file.
So is it a bug I should post @ CE?

Hmmm, did they add that feature within the last couple months?
Last time I tested this, it cleared the entire que on HR20-700.
...but that was a few months ago.
