Hi everybody, need a little help with an OTA experiment here.

I currently have 2 dishes. One for regular channels, and 1 for HD. 1 coax cable from each enter the house and go to a diplexer. From the diplexer there is a single run up to TV1 where they split back to 2 cables from the 2nd diplexer then in to my 722 receiver.

So now I have a TV42BP Terk OTA antenna that is going to be attached to the HD dish. The instructions say to disconnect the coax from the dish LNB and reconnect it to the OUT on the OTA. Then connect a short cable from the LNB to the OTA IN.

Ok, easy enough....BUT...its saying that now I need to use a diplexer from the Dish to the 2 ports on the back of the 722 (SAT IN and TV). So...do I need another diplexer? Can I just run it in to the existing diplexer like it is now? I don't really want to run additional cables if I dont have to.

I hope this is understandable!

Thanks all!!

On the roof (or wherever your dish is located) you are combining the OTA signal with your SAT signal. You will have to separate that back out again at the TV end in order to connect to your receiver (or TV) antenna/OTA input.

Antennas of this type that come with a combiner generally come with at least one splitter for the TV end because it is required.
