View Full Version : HR10-250 Boot Screens Missing?
I think this is the first time I have booted my HR10-250 from the menu since I added my A/V receiver.
Anyway, now when the boot starts, nothing shows on my TV screen before the boot completes and the Tivo menu is shown.
I know the screen images have not been lost, since I can see each of them by switching the A/V receiver to another item and then back to the HR10. I need to do this a seperate time for every screen (Powering Up, Almost There, and Downloading Satellite).
The HR10 is connected to the HR10 via component. It used to be connected directly to the TV via component.
I can live with this, but does anyone have any ideas what could be causing the problem?

IIRC, the boot screens aren't HD.
Sounds like your receiver doesn't pass 480i via component properly,
switching away then back again resyncs something maybe?

The resolution of the boot screen image is irrelevent. After all, you can watch both HD and SD programs via component on your HDTV. It is quite possible that the splash screen image got corrupted somehow. I believe it's just a jpeg file. If you can connect to the Tivo via telnet you should be able to see if the image is still there (I can't recall the exact location of the file offhand. Of course, this requires a hacked Tivo to connect via telnet. OTOH, you could pull the drive and put it in your PC, boot from a Linux distribution, and locate the file from the command line after mounting the active partition.

Same problem. When it boots, mine goes into 1080i mode, and only returns to the mode that it was last in at the screen that has the 1 to 100% moving bar. My system can not do 1080I, thus black screen.
Pressing the mode button on the unit has no effect until it changes by itself.
Mine never used to be that way, but in the past 6 months seems to have changed. At first I thought that my system was dead....
Hope that this helps. Anyone have any idea on how to set the default mode?
Maybe it was something I did !!!!
The pictures for each screen are definitely still there, since I can still see them after I change to my HR20 and then back to the HR10.
At least it is nice to know that I am not the only person having the problem. Since the update finally finished, I am not going to worry about it.
