I just received a new HR21-200 from directv. My apartment building supposedly has been upgraded to a 3LNB setup to give us some HD, until they install the SWM gear in the spring.
I have been using my old destackers with the HR-21 and they worked fine for the SD channels. I purchased a 4P52W off of EBay to get the couple of HD channels available with the 3LNB setup.
With the 4P52W, my HR21 is acting like there isn't a destacker installed. It can see every other transponder on the 101 sat and nothing else. There is a green LED lit on the destacker.
I see there is a DC in plug on the 4P52W. Do I need a 20VDC power supply for it to work correctly with the HR21-200?
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Were your old destackers Sonoras? Your building may have a second trunkline available for those who are supposed to be getting the 3.6 Mhz stack, and your homerun may have to be swapped over to it at the junction closet.

The destackers have a big D575 on them. Doesn't say Sonora on them anywhere.
The 3LNB dish was just installed in December, I don't think they did any more work than they absolutely had to since they are ripping it all out for the SWM gear at some point.
I would have figured the 4P52W, at worst, would have at least destacked the SD stuff like the old destackers.

A D575 destacks signals that have been upshifted by 575 MHz, with transponder 2, which ordinarily has an L-band center frequency of about 989 MHz, being upshifted to 1,564 MHz.
Not only is the intermediate frequency upshift band of the NAS system a little higher, I believe it is also an inverted shift, where the upshifted transponder 2 becomes the highest frequency in the upshifted, intermediate band.
Just for the heck of it, you might want to go into your HR21's secret set-up screen and see what, if any LNB setup choices they give you. Press in the "action" and right arrow buttons on the front panel at the same time (you can't do this with the buttons on the remote) and see if there is an LNB choice called "stacked", or one that says or "inverted".

When I do that, all I get is system diagnostics, and there isn't anything I can change.
I had no idea the NAS system worked differently, that's what I get for assuming :)
I guess I am going to have to call the MDU company and ask them how their system works.
If your destacker was working. you have a stacked system. the 4P52W won't work. You need a MFH-1 system for the 4P52W( 2-port customer device) to work. Like AntAltMike said it's has inverted transponders.

They have to change something in your local closet. I had the same exact problem. Had a Sonora--worked fine. Upgraded to an Hr-20...got the pace destacker..all of a sudden I couldn't see transponders. It took me a lot of time and dealing with a lot of people who kept telling me my destacker was bad or asking me to keep rebooting my receiver but the real solution is to make sure you have the right wiring in your local closet to enable HD. It's some kinda doodad that your MDU provider has to put in there--the same device they put in there for people with non DVR based HD receivers.
Saying "you have to have MFH-1" is not 100% accurate because they didn't change anything in the MFH-1 in the building, just changed something in the closet in my unit to switch from a d575d to a SCP4952w

I would recommend contacting your provider they will be able to answer that question in a second. The thing is you have no idea how they have your system set up because you have to remember that MFH2 was initially slated for the end of December early January. So if your dish was installed December they may have just put up the bare minimum, which makes sense, until the new system was supposed to be ready.
