Hi everyone, i just wanted to raise a few problems I have been having with my HR21 recently and see if anyone can shed some light on these:

1) Remote scheduling does not work. I have tried this several times. I choose my HR21 from the dropdown list and then I will get an email notification. However, the event never show up on my dvr list. I'm sure this is a totally different design but I can order ppv online and it works flawlessly.

2) Still no On Demand. On Demand service is activated on my account, my HR21 is networked and connected to the intarwebs, but still no On Demand features. Are there still some staggered releases in the queue and haven't been pushed out yet?

3) Media share bad performance. I have noticed dropouts many times when streaming music across my network. The music will stop for a few seconds, then come back. I know that there are many possible bottlenecks here but I believe the bottleneck to be my HR21 and here is my logic. I have my Xbox 360 networked wirelessly streaming from the same instance of Windows Media Player 11 and there are many less dropouts than the HR21. So therefore the bottleneck is either the device itself, or the wireless adapter. I don't believe its the wireless adapter because the D-Link wireless bridge I have the HR21 connected to is much more sophisticated than the antiquated 360 USB wireless adapter.

4) Guide performance very sluggish especially when compared to my R15.

Any thoughts?

Items 1 & 2 require software version 0x1fe which is being introduced with a staggered roll out. Be patient, it will eventually come.

Item 3 is most likely being caused by interference with the wireless signal. Try repositioning the wireless adapter.

Item 4 hopefully will improve with the new software when you get it.

Ok just went home during my lunch break and I have the Winter Update!

Items 1 and 2 are in fact fixed.

Item 3 would surprise me very much if its the positioning of the wireless adapter. It is in a better position singal wise than the 360 wireless adapter. I checked the signal strength through the browser-based firmware and its at 86% and i've seen it higher than that. I wouldn't think that 86% would be weak enough to drop the signal intermittently. If this really is the problem I can attempt to fix it by buying a more powerful antenna for the bridge. Moving the bridge isn't really an option.

Item 4 I wasn't able to test much yet.

New item - Didn't get to play much with Ondemand while I was home but i started downloading an episode of Weeds on Showtime VOD. I started playing it back and the picture quality wasn't good. It seemed to have that over-compressed look to it like you would see when you are streaming a video online. Is this how all VOD content looks or was it just because it was in SD and I was playing it before it was finished downloading?

Also it was running in a letterboxed widescreen mode, not the normal 16x9 signal
