I have a PVR721, and a Pronto remote. What I would like to do is program macros that take me directly to a guide for All Channels, a guide for Movies, or whatever. As far as I can tell, whenever the Guide button is presssed, it comes up with whatever guide list was last shown, and subsequent presses has it rotating through the valid lists. I'd like to create a button that takes it to the All Channels guide, no matter what, and from that I can program macros to go to any other list. However, I have found no way to have it go to any particular list, it always seems to remember where it was, no matter what. Has anyone found any sequence of activities that will reset the guide list it is pointing to, or have it go directly to any particular list?

OK, answering my own thread...

I found a way of forcing a particular favorite list in the Guide. The sequence is:
MENU - 4 (Preferences) - 1 (Favorites) - LEFT CURSOR (All Subs) - RIGHT CURSOR (Done) - SELECT.

This sequence forces "All Subs" as the next GUIDE list selection when GUIDE is pressed. Inserting DOWN CURSORs after the LEFT CURSOR will allow choosing any of the other favorite lists, as would multiple hits of GUIDE afterwards. It's a long sequence, and some delays may have to be inserted for propoer operation, so I haven't generally implemented this yet. I may force "All Subs" as part of my Power-Up sequence, since that is my default mode.

Using my wife as a test case, she found searching through the Movies Themes much easier than my Movie Favorites, so I may just use Themes for that movies anyway. I have to agree with her, everything is in order by time, and movies that aren't on my channel lists are included too. I expect Sports to be the same way, so now I'm questioning the value of Favorites- expect to "lockout" channels that are never viewed.

IMO that is the purpose of the favorites lists - to remove the channels you never watch - and I consider this to be very useful. My favorites menu is basically the All Subs with all the PPV and music channels removed. I also removed the duplicate locals, public access channels, and a few others that we never watch.
