In Turner Broadcasting System Inc.’s first ever high-definition-TV program, Turner Network Television plans to shoot the Feb. 9 National Basketball Association All-Star Game and the Feb. 8 All-Star Saturday Night programming in HDTV.

In Demand L.L.C. is distributing it to operators, which would have to offer the programming on a separate channel. DirecTV Inc. and EchoStar Communications Corp. will also get the HD feed.

While it’s the first time the All-Star Game will be shot in high-def, the concept is not new to basketball.

Cablevision Systems Corp.’s Madison Square Garden Network has been shooting New York Knicks games in HD since 1999.
