6. Prizes:

Grand Prize #1: A Dish Network PVR721 receiver, provided by Dish Depot (www.dishdepot.com) (valued at $549). Dish Depot (www.dishdepot.com) will ship the PVR721 receiver directly to the winner upon completion of the Contest and verification of the Contest results.

Grand Prize #2: A Hughes HDVR2 Directivo Series II receiver, provided by American Satellite & Entertainment, Inc. (www.americansatellite.com/dbstalk) (valued at $299). American Satellite & Entertainment, Inc. If the Winner of the HDVR2 receiver does not agree to these terms, Winner may decline the Grand Prize, which will then be offered to the Second Place finisher, then the Third place finisher. If the Second and Third place finishers also decline these terms, the HDRV2 receiver will be awarded to a Contest Participant who has cast a vote in EVERY poll throughout the Contest via a random drawing conducted by the DBSTalk.com Survivor: Amazon Contest Coordinator.

Second Place Prize will be a DVD of the participant’s choice (valued up to $30) or two items from the DBSTalk.com online store (valued up to $30).

Third Place Prize will be one item from the DBSTalk.com online store (valued up to $20).

7. The Participant with greatest number of points at the conclusion of the Contest will choose which Grand Prize is to be awarded to him/her. The Participant with the second greatest number of points at the conclusion of the Contest will then be awarded the other Grand Prize.

8. Odds of winning depend on how well participants guess what the Survivors will do, and on the number of participants in the Contest. Prizes will be awarded when Survivor: Amazon ends its season on CBS in May 2003. Prize winners will be notified via email. DBSTalk.com, Dish Depot (www.dishdepot.com), and American Satellite & Entertainment, Inc. (www.americansatellite.com/dbstalk) will pay any shipping charges for prizes. There will be no substitution of the Grand Prizes by the Contest Winners allowed. No purchase is necessary to participate or win.

9. In the event Survivor: Amazon ends before its complete run on CBS (i.e. network cancellation), the DBSTalk.com Survivor: Amazon Contest participants leading at the time of Survivor: Amazon’s end will be awarded the prizes.

Should current world events lead CBS to pull Survivor: Amazon from the current schedule for a limited period of time, the contest will be "put on hold" until such time as Survivor: Amazon resumes on CBS. The DBSTalk Survivor: Amazon Contest Coordinator shall be the sole judge of the definition of the term "limited".

16. Any attempt by a participant to deliberately damage the DBSTalk.com web site, the Dish Depot (www.dishdepot.com) web site, or the American Satellite & Entertainment, Inc. (www.americansatellite.com/dbstalk) web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the DBSTalk.com Survivor: Amazon contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, DBSTalk.com, Dish Depot (www.dishdepot.com), and American Satellite & Entertainment, Inc. (www.americansatellite.com/dbstalk) reserve the right to seek damages from the offending participant to the fullest extent of the law.

17. Contest void where prohibited by law.

How to Enter Each Week:

1. Participants will vote in a minimum of three polls each week – Who Will Win the Reward Challenge, Who Will Win Immunity, and Who Will Be Voted out of the Tribe. Each correct vote will be worth a set number of points. The two participants with the most points at the end of Week 13 of Survivor: Amazon will be the winners of the DBSTalk.com Survivor: Amazon Contest. Past experience dictates that during some weeks, some polls will be invalid due to events on the show. For example, if there is no Reward Challenge shown during an episode, the Who Wins the Reward Challenge Poll is invalidated. When a poll becomes invalid, all participants who voted in that poll will receive the full point award assigned to that poll.

2. During the course of play, Bonus Polls worth varying numbers of points will be added at the discretion of the DBSTalk.com Survivor: Amazon Contest Coordinator.

3. Polls will be posted one day after the airing of the week’s Survivor: Amazon episode.

4. Weekly DBSTalk.com Survivor: Amazon Contest entries must be received by 11:59 PM Eastern Time the day before the weekly Survivor: Amazon episode airs on CBS. The DBSTalk.com clock will be used as the official time for the Contest. If the weekly episode airs on Thursday, all Contest entries must be received by 11:59 PM Eastern Time Wednesday. Some Survivor: Amazon episodes may air on another day of the week during the season. Air schedule and Contest schedule updates will be posted at DBSTalk.com.

5. Weekly DBSTalk.com Survivor: Amazon Contest results will be updated and posted on the DBSTalk.com Survivor: Amazon Contest Official Web Site (http://survivor.dbstalk.com) on or before the second day after the airing of the week’s Survivor: Amazon episode. Players will not be notified of weekly results via any other method.

6. The points will be awarded as follows:

Each week, participants will receive 1 point for every poll in which you vote.

Weeks Before the Tribes Merge: The Who Will Win the Reward Challenge poll will be worth 2 points if answered correctly. The Who Will Win Immunity poll will be worth 2 points if answered correctly. The Who Will Be Voted Out of the Tribe poll will be worth 4 points if answered correctly.

Weeks After the Tribes Merge: The Who Will Win the Reward Challenge poll will be worth 4 points if answered correctly. The Who Will Win Immunity poll will be worth 4 points if answered correctly. The Who Will Be Voted Out of the Tribe poll will be worth 4 points if answered correctly.

In Week 13 (The Final Week), participants will vote in six polls. One Who Will Give Up First (in the final immunity challenge) poll will be worth 4 points if answered correctly. Two Who Will Win Immunity polls will be worth 4 points each if answered correctly. The Who is the Fourth Place Survivor poll will be worth 10 points if answered correctly. The Who is the Third Place Survivor poll will be worth 10 points if answered correctly. And the Who is the Winner of Survivor: Amazon poll will be worth 20 points if answered correctly.

Special Bonus Points for Participation:

If you cast a vote in every poll for all 13 weeks of the Contest, you will be awarded a bonus of 20 points at the conclusion of the Contest.

If you cast a vote in every poll for at least 9 weeks of the Contest, you will be awarded a bonus of 15 points at the conclusion of the Contest.

If you cast a vote in every poll for at least 6 weeks of the Contest, you will be awarded a bonus of 10 points at the conclusion of the Contest.

If you cast a vote in every poll for at least 3 weeks of the Contest, you will be awarded a bonus of 5 points at the conclusion of the Contest.

7. Participants do not have to enter each week to be eligible to win. Of course, your odds of winning prizes are better if you play each week. Good Luck from the Staff at DBSTalk.com, Dish Depot (www.dishdepot.com) and American Satellite & Entertainment, Inc. (www.americansatellite.com/dbstalk)!

 First of all, I would like to thank Mark and company for working hard to pull this contest off. Thank you. :goodjob:

:computer: I know that Mark cannot forsee all circumstances when conducting these contests. However, recent events in the news may have the networks postponing programming in favor of live news coverage. I therefore request clarification of Rule 9 for the following circumstances:

a. The show is postponed by a week or so in favor of live news coverage.
b. The show is removed from the schedule, and, because of the length that the show is off the air, CBS is forced to restart the airing of the series from the first episode again.

While I doubt that CBS will cancel the series, it may put the intended contest end in May in jeopardy.

Thanks.

#9 of the rules has been updated along the lines of Z'Loth's suggestion.

Bottom line is this: If the show is delayed a reasonable amount of time, the contest will be delayed as well. If the show is delayed indefinitely, I'll make the call at that point as to what to do.

I also seriously doubt that Survivor: Amazon will be canceled outright.
