hr-10 250 & Phone Line?

I just installed an hr10-250 to a new location without a handy way to connect to a phone line. Does the hr10 need a phone line to update the guide? If so, what are my options? I have a Linksys wireless adapter that I used for an old tivo, can I use that on the hr10? I've also tried the wireless phone adapters available from RS but have had trouble with those as well. Any suggestions? Thanks.

All guide data comes from the satellite. The HR10 will want to make calls for service and software updates, but will work fine if it never completes these calls.
