Sunday night I set up my DVR for Media share with Media Player 11. Sunday night my DVR started locking up and required a complete reset to get working again. Coincidence? I understand Media Share is supposed to work with Vista and VIIV processor. My PC I used is XP and does NOT have a VIIV processor. Media Share seems to work fine. Could this be why my DVR started locking up? Because the media share shouldnt work with my PC? Its a HR20-100s DVR...

Media share is made to be used on XP systems. I have two XP systems with Media share setup and both work great. You do NOT need a VIIV processor or Vista. If you remove the network connection and your HR20 works then something is setup wrong with your setup.

You don't even need a Windows PC. I use Media Share with a Macintosh (using both Twonky and EyeConnect software) and a Linux PC (using Twonky).

There have been instances as well where a Menu Reset with the Ethernet cable unplugged can also resolve that initial lockup problem.

There have been instances as well where a Menu Reset with the Ethernet cable unplugged can also resolve that initial lockup problem. A complete reset everything with cable unplugged seem to work UNTIL... the hard drive started to crash.... Now I have a new HR20 they sent me and it all seems to be working fine so far... I think my entire problem was the HD going bad... it made some crazy LOUD clanking and grinding noises which isnt good.
