I am looking for the AM21 and have not heard anything more about it since CES has ended.
Does anyone have any information that can be shared on this product since it is suppose to be available in a week or so?
EDIT
Just in case you do not know what a AM21 is, it is the optional OTA tuner for the HR21 and H21 series equipment. At least I hope the H21... :)

I can tell you it's on track. Can I tell you when it will be released? No I cannot. I can also tell you that our friends at DIRECTV are actively getting closer to releasing it. Patience, my friend.
Well just call Directv and ask!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When the product is available you will find plenty of posts.
Until then you just have to be patient, Directv did not give a specific date just a time frame for availability.

Will DirecTV allow a customer with an HR20 to swap with a customer who has an HR21? I received an HR20-100 as a repair replacement for an HR10-250. I don't need OTA in this room.

No official date has been provided for the release of the AM21...
All "dates" are rumor and speculation... and the ones given by DirecTV CSRs... are estimated time frames...
There has been no set date for it.
Also: It is only going to be for the HR21 for the initial phases... there is no estimate or timeline on when it will come for the H21
What's wrong Spanky, you jonesn for 36-1;)

At least someone understands...
I assume you connect the coax from the antenna to the am21 right? So would it be possible to split the coax and go from the antenna to the splitter then to the am21 and the other end to the tv? The reason I ask is because if all tuners are recording but there is something else on OTA that I can watch id like to switch to the tv and watch anotehr OTA program, this possible? I dont see why not but just curious
Edit:
Didnt meant to steal this post i thought it was the original AM21 post, sorry

Assuming your signal is good enough to split then yep you can do that. I do that with all my HR20's, in some cases even a 3 or 4 way split, but I do have an amp on the line which helps.

Yes, I do that with my HR20. I have it split 3 ways. 1 to the HR20, 1 to the TV, and 1 to the Stereo Receiver for Radio. So, you should be fine.

Just got off the phone with purchasing, we were supposed to have them by mid Feb, I got the dept fired up about it and I'll hopefully have a good answer prior to my last day here at Perfect-10, if not I've got plenty of good contacts here to keep me informed after I start my new job! Look for another post soon!

I'm hoping they do a software update on the HR20 that will allow the AM21 to work with it. For those with multipath, the 3rd gen. tuner in the HR20 isn't worth the cost of the parts it took to make it.

I believe others in the forum said they wont

The HR20 will never support the AM21.
That has been confirmed a few times now.

Had a talk with purchasing yesterday, DirecTV has them they just aren't letting them go yet for some reason (assume is because they are stockpiling like they did with the hr21p's which came in last wednesday and are now in dealers hands)

I would imagine that the AM21s can't be shipped until the software that supports them is in all the receivers. I think I've seen reports from other members being told end of March.
So I'd suggest keeping an eye on release notes for the HR21 family National Releases. :)
Cheers,
Tom
