Recording Issues

I've read a ton of postings, searched to see if others are having problems with their recording playback on the HR20-100 and finally, with hesitation, decided to post my problem. During playback the picture freezes and sound stops. Then it will start up only to repeat the problem again. Also, when rewinding it sometimes just freezes up, screen goes to still mode, the led lights goes into its circular search pattern but it does nothing. I have to reboot the system entirely to get it working again. The unit is only 6 months old but I'm thinking I have a lemon unit. I'm a novice with this stuff and need some expert help/opionions. Those are symptoms of a hard drive failure. Get it replaced.

Thanks JD, I had the same thought. I read the posts regarding 'reformating' and have done this. I'll be recording today to see if there are any changes. Like some of the posts were indicating I too was having frame freezes, etc. and resetting the unit. I've experienced far more problems with this unit than I did my previous TIVO unit.
