I'm in the La Crosse Wisconsin area and here Dish currently does not have our locals in HD even though the local cable company does and they are broadcast of of course OTA in HD.
I was browsing through some of the upper channel numbers the other day (in the 9000s) and one channel cut out for some reason - we were having bad weather, and when it came back in I had CBS HD for like 5 minutes, and then oops it went out and came back as the normal channel.
My question is this: is it possible in light of this weird situation that we could somehow trick the receiver into providing me locals from another town where they might have HD - and if not - what happened there?
