View Full Version : HR21 problem.....should I be concerned?....

Recently (probably 6 months ago) I upgraded to the HR21. It's run "pretty good" (slow responding, freezes up every now and then, but being a long time D* subscriber I've just gotten used to that stuff), but today when I got home it would not come on. I used the red reset button and the power light would light up briefly only to go off and the unit would still not come on. After doing that several times I unplugged the unit and waited a minute and plugged it back in. Power light again came on briefly only to go off and the unit would do nothing. Finally I unplugged it and left it off for probably 5-10 minutes.....when I plugged it back in it finally rebooted and is working like before.

Has anyone else had this sort of problem? Did it have something to do with an upgrade? Was it just some sort of glitch or is it just the start of worse problems?

the menus/guides are known to be a little slow on the HR2x series....

freezes up how? where the audio and video just stop? where it requires a reboot? if so, that's not normal...

leaving it unplugged for 5-10 minutes was the proper thing to do... see if that clears up some problems... if not, watch all of your recordings and call directv and ask that they send you a replacement...
