I know this might be an issue that I need to take up with Linksys but maybe you smart kids have a solution...

I got my service FINALLY connected today and it works like a charm but my diagnostic tests for my broadband connection fail when it is connected through my router. If I connect directly through the modem it works just fine but when I go through my router, it fails every time.

Any ideas???

I'd start by confirming that your set top box has an IP address. It should be in the same subnet as the other computers on your home network (assuming you aren't doing anything too interesting).

You can check the IP address on the box by navigating (on a ViP622, anyway):
Main Menu -> System Setup -> Installation -> Broadband Setup -> Network Setup

I think most Linksys devices use a 192.168.1.X or 192.168.100.X subnet by default.

What does the "connection status" read?

I got it working. I used the old "turn it off and on" trick and reset my receiver. Once it was back up it connected without a hitch.

Regardless, thanks for the reply!
