On my HR20-700 today, the "Channels I Receive" list became significantly less when they unchecked all of the NBA League Pass & NHL Center Ice channels (in the 700's).
I don't subscribe to either of those packages, so it did the right thing in deleting them from that list.
Progress!!!
Nice job DirecTV!!!
Keep it going!!!

I could do it a lot faster if they let me uncheck my own boxes.

They do let you uncheck your own boxes.
You have the option to set up 2 seperate favorites list, plus the system's C.I.R. list.

the problem with setting up custom lists, is that when a new channel comes on board, you dont know about it because it wont show up in your list because you never added it in, because obviously it wasnt there when you set your list up. by "channels i get" working correctly, any new channels you get would then show up in the list, without getting the CRAP that shows up now. and i still wish they would get rid of the PPV channels from channels i get...D*, unless i pay for them, i dont GET them...

Like dtrell eludes to in a round about way is, this would totally defeat the purpose of the CIR feature.
The purpose of CIR is to not have to think about what you do or don't get.
It's mainly for the non-tech-savy users like grandpa munster.
Set it once and forget about it forever.
And when new channels get added (that he can receive), they automatically get added to his guide.
If "YOU" were in charge of your CIR list, then when DirecTV adds new channels, they wouldn't be added to your CIR list, therefore not in your guide, and if you didn't know any better (like grandpa munster who doesn't read internet forums or the directv website) you'd never even know there were new channels to watch.
What "YOU" need is to set your custom favorites lists.

Aww come on now. :D
How hard is it to skip the 100's and upper 500's?
You know exactly where the PPV's are, so you know what to skip.
DirecTV has to make money too, ya know.
They need that "bait" there to tempt you into buying it.
Personally I wish more suckers would buy their PPV's.
This way they could make their money off the PPV's instead of raising the rates for the base packages every year.

They accomplished a LOT today by removing NHLCI & NBALP.
This is "big part" of what the sports enthusists have been waiting for.
Now their Series Links shouldn't be searching for games in the 700's (and ultimately recording black screen) if they don't subscribe to that sports package.

Does it filter out sports pack (RSNs) yet?

Does it filter out sports pack (RSNs) yet?
Good question.
Hopefully someone will verify.
Anyone can feel free to talk about what is or isn't filtered yet in this thread AND ALSO how the feature is working for the ones that ARE being filtered.
I just added the NHL & NBA tags to the title since that's what I noticed yesterday.

Question for anyone who does NOT have the HD ACCESS PACK but DOES subscribe to either NHLCI or NBALP ....
Do all the "-1" high def channels get unchecked from the CIR list for the package you do subscribe to, since that would qualify as a channel you couldn't receive?

This is big step in the right direction... Hopefully they can do the Hotpass and the International Package soon. Keep up the good work.
