Locals Question

I'm not exactly sure of how the locals work, but if I were to have Dish Network with Seattle channels (where I live). Would I be able to travel to Spokane and Pullman, WA (where I travel often) and still receive them?

I am confused with Spot Beams... I don't exactly know how they work, so what would happen to those Seattle channels if I were to travel with the dish on my RV?

Seattle and Portland are both served by spot beam 3 from 119. Check the map at http://wvjw.info/dbs-beam/echo7.gif. Viewers of either set of locals will be able to receive them from anywhere in the circle shown. Near the edge you may or may not have reception. Outside the circle you will not be able to get your locals (except the 3 minor locals on 148) because spot beam 3 is focused on one area, much like a narrow beam flashlight. This allows transponder 3 to also be used in other parts of the country on spot beams 5, 9, 13 and 15.
